Library of the Free Economy Institute continues to replenish with new literature

Today the library has replenished with three books on economic and social topics:

  • Walter Block. Sheep in wolf skins
  • Pavel Usanov. Wealth science
  • Pavel Usanov. Retrospective of Economic Thought

In a scandalous work published thirty years ago in the USA, Professor Walter Blok explores the gallery of publicly harassed characters, public scapegoats from the perspective of libertarian ethics and impartial logic, including a pimp, prostitute, strikebreaker, blackmailer, money-lender, slanderer, drug dealer addict, speculator, mediator and others. The results of the analysis are astounding and paradoxical.

“Sheep in wolf skins” is undoubtedly an intellectual challenge for economists and sociologists, politicians, lawyers, psychologists. The book is interesting to a wide range of readers who are able to drop stereotypical perceptions and follow the movement of unbiased thought.

Special for this edition, the artist S. Yolkin created new illustrations for the book.

We often pay attention only to the immediate and obvious consequences of our actions and lose sight of the distant (coming later), as well as non-obvious, i.e. events that - due to our decisions - never occur. Ignoring remote and implicit consequences leads to errors in decision-making both at the individual level and at the state level.

Economic theory is a science that forms a way of thinking that allows you to see these implicit consequences and make decisions more balanced.

The Science of Wealth is a book for those who want to understand how the economy works and what does not work in it, and also what are the secrets of economic prosperity.

The task of the book is to talk about this very important and interesting science and to show with many examples what makes some societies rich and others poor.

The book will be interesting to both specialists and those who are just discovering the world of economic science.

This book is a fascinating story about how economic thought was born, how it has changed over the centuries, and what it is now. The readers are followed by the ideas of famous philosophers and economists: Lao Tzu, Aristotle and Plato, Thomas Aquinas, A. Smith, C. Marx, J. M. Keynes and F. von Hayek, L. von Mises, M. Rothbard and others, not lost their relevance now. Many current economic problems are simply impossible to understand without turning to the history of ideas.

Deepening the world of economic ideas has never been so exciting.

One of the goals of the book is to show an alternative to the existing mainstream, to talk about what is the tradition of the free market and how for centuries it fought with the tradition of nationalization of the economy.

The book will be especially useful for those who want to expand and deepen the knowledge gained in the bestselling book of Pavel Usanov "The Science of Wealth".
